module 11: Handling slow seasons & income fluctuations

the business playbook

/

One of the biggest mindset shifts you'll make as a business owner is realising that slower months don't mean you're failing, they're part of running a sustainable business.

In this lesson, I'll show you how to prepare for quieter seasons before they happen, manage inconsistent income with confidence, and create systems that keep cash flowing all year round. We'll cover everything from planning ahead and building an emergency fund to creating retainer offers, recurring revenue, upsells and increasing your visibility during slower periods.

By the end of this lesson, you'll have a practical strategy to make your income feel far more predictable, without relying on constant new client enquiries.

module 11: Handling slow seasons & income fluctuations

Take 10–15 minutes to practice:

Build your Income Safety Net:

  1. Add up your essential monthly expenses (rent, bills, food, insurance, etc.).
  2. Multiply by 6. (6 MONTHS worth of savings)
  3. Check how much you currently have saved so you can see how much more you need to save to get to your goal.
  4. Set a non-negotiable rule: Every payment that lands in your account, 10% goes straight into your emergency fund before you spend a penny.
